Steven Yuhas, B.A., M.Ed., CRC, CCM, CLCP, NCC
Mr. Yuhas is currently President and founder of The Directions Group, Inc., a rehabilitation consulting and case management company serving the Southeastern United States. Since 1985, Mr. Yuhas has been providing catastrophic case management and consultation services with clients, families, rehabilitation hospitals, insurance companies, attorneys, third part administrators and self-insured companies. He is a Board Certified Life Care Planner and is experienced in Maritime Law cases providing vocational rehabilitation evaluations, job placement assistance, and individualized rehabilitation plans. Mr. Yuhas has a Master’s of Education Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education and Psychology in 1983.
Dr. Cindy Rich, Clinical Psychologist
Mrs. Rich’s specialty areas are in Children, Adolescents, Couples & Family. She also work with adults who are dealing with Divorce, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Post-traumatic Stress and Personal Growth. In addition, she has had training and an interest in working with Gifted Children and their families. Mrs. Rich earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University, with a specialization certificate in child therapy that included a residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. In addition to offering therapy, she has been actively involved in research, public speaking, workshop presentations, and publishing in books and journals.
Melissa Black
Ms. Black was inspired to teach at an early age and loved school as a child. She holds a strong belief every child has a unique and extraordinary purpose and believes it is the responsibility of the teacher to encourage and tap into those precious resources unlocking each child’s destiny. After graduating from Winthrop she relocated to Western Colorado where she implemented, operated and owned a children’s center and daycare at the local ski resort. Her positions over the past 20 years have varied from 3rd grade, science lab teacher, reading specialist, technology teacher and currently teaches 4th grade. She has been nominated yearly by her peers for her teaching skills and was awarded 1998-99 teacher of the year at her school. She’s taught parenting classes, was a master science teacher for CCSD, 100 Top Science Teachers for South Carolina in 1992, Science Liaison, Reading Liaisons, administrator for the Mayor’s after school and summer programs, and she has piloted many programs and curriculums.
Sara Carey
Mrs. Carey holds a B.S. in Special Education from Oral Roberts University. At Coastal Christian Preparatory School, she served as the Director of the Learning Center, Second Grade Teacher, and Character Development Teacher. She also started an internet-based company, JoyDance, which networks Christian dancers throughout the country, provides Instructional Dance Videos, and opens doors for her to speak and perform at various Christian conferences. JoyDance also became a local dance studio with weekly classes and summer camps. Mrs. Carey has also coached cheerleading and recently led the Coastal Christian Prep Cheerleaders to the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleading National Competition where her squad won first place in their age category. Mrs. Carey’s four children are the proudest of her achievements and the driving force behind her passion for reaching young people in a powerful and eternal way.
